"I am honored and humbled by the support of my fellow citizens and peers."
-Del Garcia
Grant County Citizens,
Please join me in supporting Del Garcia as he works to earn the privilege of serving you as the next Sheriff of Grant County. I have had the distinct pleasure to have known Del since 1994 when he began his career with the Marion Police Department. Since then, I have observed the transformation of a young man intent on serving his community to a mature, humble, intelligent servant-leader who has earned the respect of his peers and who is uniquely qualified to serve as Sheriff.
The course Del traveled to become equipped to take on this responsibility was begun in childhood, through service to our great country in the military and then here in our community as a career police officer. At MPD, Del served with distinction as the commander of the county’s narcotics unit, as a supervising detective assigned to manage and lead a squad of veteran investigators tackling the most serious crimes, as an instructor assigned to teach other officers in numerous areas of study, and as the leader of shifts of patrol officers on the front lines. Regardless of the challenge, Del excelled at each job and gained the experience and knowledge to manage any assignment and to inspire and lead men and women in tough situations.
But that isn’t the entire story. Throughout his career, Del has taken on additional responsibilities to improve himself and to contribute to our community. Del earned his college degree while working and raising a family, served as a Marion City Councilman (where he became intimately familiar with responsible budgeting and conservative stewardship of the people’s money), worked with students parttime at Marion Community Schools and even found countless hours to offer as a coach and mentor to young people in our community. All this, while consistently and faithfully exhibiting Christian values, a fantastic work ethic, integrity, commitment to his family and importantly, keeping the promise he made when he signed on—to help people, regardless of their standing, expecting nothing in return.
I’ve been told that the definition of integrity is doing the right thing consistently, even when no one is watching. I’ve observed this trait in Del consistently for all the years I’ve known him. So, in addition to the impressive set of credentials that you’ll see on Del’s professional résumé, please know that this man possesses even more valuable qualifications for the job of Sheriff—character and honesty and the sincerest commitment to serve. Del is the right man for this job at the right time and I endorse him enthusiastically to be our next Sheriff. Please join me.
Sincerely,
David M. Gilbert
Chief of Police, 2004-2015

" During my 24 years of EMS, I have had the privilege and honor to meet a lot of people in Law Enforcement. Having spent the last two years as a reserve officer, I can say that Del is professional, courteous, compassionate, and truly has the heart of a servant. I endorse Del Garcia for sheriff of Grant County."
"I have known Del Garcia since we began our careers together at the Marion Police Department 27 years ago. In that time Del has always endeavored to make the citizens of Marion safer in every assignment he was given. As a leader in the patrol, detective, and narcotics divisions, his wisdom, integrity and faith was witnessed by everyone he met.
Del treated both just and the unjust, the victim and the violator with respect and dignity. Del holds himself to the highest standards and expects the same from those he leads. Del is who I and my family will be voting for next May. Please join me in supporting Del Garcia for Sheriff"
"In the 30+ years we have known Del Garcia, we have watched him work diligently at serving our community in many facets - and always leading by example. His good character has not wavered throughout the years and we have complete trust in him to lead Grant County as our Sheriff."
"I am endorsing Del Garcia for Sheriff of Grant County because I feel he is the most qualified to lead the county's lead law enforcement department in the county.
Del has experience in multiple areas of law enforcement and understands the social-economic issues facing Grant County residents. He has an understanding of the judicial and probation system and has a vision for how the future of law enforcement, probation, and the judicial systems could work to help reduce crime and stop repeat offenders in the county.
Del is a man of exceptional character and of great faith and feels that this is his calling and is trusting in God’s leading as he forges forward on this journey.
I encourage everyone to look closely at Del and feel free to ask questions you have and to resolve that Del is indeed the right candidate for Sheriff of Grant County."
" I had the honor of working with Del for 21yrs on the Marion Police Department. I observed him over those years to not just be a man in a leadership role but a true leader. A man who put the needs of his community and subordinates before his own. Del Garcia has a level of integrity that all people should strive for. He truly believes, and lives, the idea that police live in a glass house. Del does what is right and just even when no one is around to see. I believe that his faith, strong morals, love of the Constitution and years of experience are exactly what Grant County needs for the next Sheriff. Please join me in voting for Del Garcia for Grant County Sheriff.

"I support Del Garcia for Sheriff. I think his police work in the community and on the Jean Team will be a great asset to us. When I found out he was retiring the first thing I did was contact him and tell him he would make a great Sheriff for Grant County.”
"Our founding fathers wrote our constitution over 200 years ago to protect us all. As a proud veteran and avid hunter, the U.S. Constitution is very important to me. Del supports the constitution and the rights of all people. He will stand with those of us that believe in this country. His love for God, country, and fellow man has been exhibited throughout his life. As a veteran himself, he knows the many sacrifices paid to keep us free and to protect this country. Join me in supporting Del Garcia, a veteran, constitutionalist, and patriot for sheriff of Grant County."
To my family and friends, I am proud to endorse Del Garcia for Sheriff of Grant County. I had the privilege of working with Del for 27 years in law enforcement. I consider Del a close friend and someone I can always go to for advice. Del is a proven leader in this community. I have no doubt as the next Sheriff of Grant County, Del will continue to lead by example. Join with me this May and vote for the clear choice. Vote Del Garcia for Sheriff!!!
When I first met Del, I had owned A. J’s Ice cream store located at 1st street and the bypass. Del and Tammy would come in and eat ice cream. They were very close friends of my oldest son Jack II, as Jack was a Probation Officer who worked in the Grant County Probation department. I have known the Garcia’s for at least 28 years. Del and I worked at Marion High School, me doing discipline and he as a security officer. I have seen him grow in teaching your children the
values of life, respect for others, and sportsmanship, always giving encouragement, growing in his faith, as well as giving to the Marion and Grant County Community. Del has Christian values, integrity, work ethics, leadership, and respect for others no matter who you are.
Working with the public, as a law enforcement officer, could have made him have a heart that would be transformed into a hardened heart by the job. But NO, Del knew where his heart was and that he would get his strength through GOD and Prayers!
I think God has plans for Del. He has a God-given servant’s heart. In today’s society, we need a person that has these qualities. Most important to me is that Del truly is a man of God. Our county needs
men and women of God in leadership positions in this day and age.
I do not doubt that Del is that true man of God who, as our next Sheriff, he will proudly serve and protect the citizens of Grant County, bringing integrity and leadership to the office and protecting our
Constitutional rights.
Del has the character, honesty, and the deepest commitment to serve your community. Del is the right man for this job at the right
time and I respectfully endorse him to be your next Sheriff of Grant County.
Please join me in supporting, and voting for Del.

I am pleased to offer my full support to Del Garcia's bid to become the next Sheriff of Grant County. Del Garcia has prepared himself for the challenges facing the next sheriff, and he has the experience to lead us through them. Del has been faithful to our communities by serving on boards and councils which have impacted lives in positive ways. His actions speak volumes about his commitments to our communities.
Del Garcia, as the next sheriff, is committed to bring community involvement to and partnership in finding workable solutions in a cost effective manner.
